Brief History Of Darul Ulum

           ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Darul Ulum, Universal School, Dukku. was established in the year 2006, which was then only an Islamiyya school named ‘Hidayatul Dullabi Ila Dariqissawab’, and it began with only 25 pupils (12 boys and 13 girls who were 3.5 years averagely) and two teachers: Malam Bello Babi (who is the founder and also head of the school) and Malam Salisu Muhammad Jumma. The Islamiyya started at Malam Bello’s house for a period of one year. In 2007, the school enrolled the second set, about 50 pupils (i.e. two classes) both male and female. This large number of the pupils which was about 85 pupils of three classes necessitated the school to move to one of the Government public schools (Family Support Program Nursery and Primary School). Moreover, the school bought two pieces of land of 100fts/ 77fts and 88fts/76fts, in 2008 and 2014 respectively and one other plot was donated by one of the community members. Its permanent site was built (in the three plots) with three blocks of nine classes. Looking at the quality islamiyya education the school had been offering, some individuals requested for a Nursery and Primary School Section which should consist both Islamic and Western Education. In response to this request, Nursery and Primary Section was introduced, after a recommendation from Gombe State Ministry of Education, in 2017, and also the name of the school was changed to Darul Ulum Universal School, Dukku.

THE SCHOOL HAS TWO SECTIONS:

 PRIMARY AND NURSERY SECTION:
This operates in two sessions: Morning and evening.
ISLAMIYYA SECTION: this section has over 400 students, and it has the following programmes
1. Tahfizul Qur’an, Hadith and Figh. This subsection, so far, has graduated about 80 Qur’amic memorizers. And about 50 students are nearly completing their memorization.
 2. Other Islamic Activities which include: Adult education, Premarital Courses, Post marital courses, Tarbiyya courses, Holiday Seminars (Daurah), etc. However, most of the programmes and lessons have been carried out in government schools due to lack of enough classes. As such, the school needs to expand its permanent site, by purchasing two neighboring plots of (two Million eight hundred thousand) N2,800,000 as well as developing them.
